South Carolina Police Accreditation Annual Training Conference
Columbia, SC
The South Carolina Police Accreditation Coalition (SCPAC) will host its annual fall training conference Thursday and Friday, October 28-29, 2021, at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center in Columbia, South Carolina.
The annual conference provides an opportunity for law enforcement agencies involved in the accreditation process to network with their peers and take advantage of lessons learned from other state and national agencies.
“We are glad to be back to a live “in person” conference,” stated John B. Tucker, the group’s president. “We have a great conference planned. Our theme this year is Bridging Law Enforcement and the Community, and we have six major sessions centered around that topic. We will also hold a CEO roundtable discussion staffed by top law enforcement executives.”
The SCPAC is a non-profit organization that supports the concept of accreditation for all public safety agencies and provides an informational network for member agencies while encouraging communication, cooperation, support, and the sharing of resources.
On day one, Charles Weathers with The Weathers Group will speak on ways to Cultivate Community Unity. SLED Agent Kimberly Clamp will discuss Threat Assessment, and Vincent “Vinny” O’Banner with D2C (Dedication to Community) will present ideas on De-Escalation.
Day one will conclude with a CEO roundtable discussion moderated by SLED Legal Counsel Adam Whitsett.
Accreditation Manager & Assessor Training will take place on the morning of day two, along with a presentation on Smart Communications by former jail administrator Guy Mosteller. FBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge Paul “Reid” Davis will discuss Investigating Domestic Terrorism, followed by a presentation on Resiliency Through Leadership presented by Rick Baker with Responder Support Services.
“You won’t want to miss this dynamic conference,” stated John Tucker. “Visit our website at www.southcarolinapac.org for additional information and registration.”
